Personal Income Tax Filing Due Dates
All personal taxes are due by the 30th of April each year. If you file your return after this day, any GST/HST credit (including any related provincial credit), Canada Child Tax Benefit payments (including those from related provincial or territorial programs) and Old Age Security benefit payments can be delayed. As well, there are penalties that can apply to individuals who owe taxes and do not file their return by the deadline.
Self-Employed Individuals Tax Filing Due Dates
If you, your spouse or your common-law partner owned a business in a calendar year (other than a business whose expenditures are primarily connected with a tax shelter), your return for that year should be filed on or before the 15th of June the following year. However, if you have a balance owing for that year, you must still pay it on or before the 30th of April deadline.
